THREAT FROM IRAQ - November 7, 2002

It is quite apparent that anti-war activists, posturing politicians and the media have decided against taking action against Iraq to disarm and remove Saddam Hussein's regime. Rather, they seem to have succeeded in forcing another round of U.N. weapons inspections, which will surely be another exercise in futility.

Though it's troubling to think about the consequences of invading Iraq, it's even more disturbing to think about what is likely to happen if we do nothing. Like Saddam Hussein launching a nuclear attack against Israel, for instance, which would undoubtedly escalate into all out war in the Middle East. Or, worse, a nuclear device delivered to a United States port in a shipping container -- destined for a major city.

Considering the fact that we are at war against terrorism, sooner or later we will have to do something. Hopefully, later won't be too late.
