My 2 cents on real democracy:

It's about time we started incorporating recent technology to get real democracy in action. The Internet has the potential to become the most potent and powerful tool to implement real democracy. Here in Australia one of our major news sites take Poll's on controversial issues and I enjoy participating and reviewing the feedback, it has plainly shown the opposition of the people to our Prime Minister's actions, yet because of the Pseudo Democracy we live in we are powerless to stop him. It's about time we implemented an online polling system that allows a more direct connection between the out of touch politicians and the rank and file civilians. I'm a system engineer / web analyst, count me in if you need any help building this. I'm not so naive to think that this is a simple thing to put into practice, but the objective logistics are not overwhelmingly complex.
