Obama demonizes GOP
Re "Obama: All deserve a 'fair shot' " (Page A12, Dec. 7): President Barack Obama obviously used Teddy Roosevelt to further his agenda. TR made that speech in Kansas while running as the candidate for his Bull Moose Party, and lost.
Obama channels whomever he needs to fit the moment, including President Ronald Reagan and President Franklin D. Roosevelt, to dazzle voters with fancy political footwork.
Obama and his minions are undermining our Constitution with government growth, and disintegrating representative democracy in America.
Demonizing congressional Republicans and Newt Gingrich follows the pattern.

Obama channeling Teddy Roosevelt
President Obama obviously used Teddy Roosevelt to further his agenda. TR made that speech while running as the candidate for his Bull Moose Party, and lost. Yet, Obama channels whomever he needs to fit the moment -- Reagan, FDR, etc. -- to dazzle voters by shooting from the lip and fancy political footwork. Indeed, President Obama and his minions are undermining our Constitution with government growth and disintegrating representative democracy in America.
Lest we forget, Obama cut his progressive teeth among the Chicago political gangsters, disqualifying all of his opponents to get his seat in the state legislature. Demonizing congressional Republicans and Gingrich follows the pattern, backed by the collective news media, miseducation establishment and union soldiers. Republicans should be vigilant in what could be massive Democrat 2012 voter/registration fraud, a-la-ACORN-style, which is already showing up in Indiana.

Obama machine sent 'Occupy' protestors
Anyone but the indoctrinated and fools can plainly see that the Obama machine sent the first -- Occupy Wall Street student protesters from colleges to falsely represent the 99 percent. Of course they were joined by the unions and all manner of socialists to stretch the movement across the nation.
Why? To advance the president's mandates, taxation, spread the wealth and government jobs agenda for re-election -- and to bash Fox News whenever Fox reporters show up, shouting "Fox News lies!" Now, the Occupy movement has been reduced to aggression, thugs, misfits, anti-Semites and racism.
Long live the spontaneous tea party movement and the real majority of Americans devoted to taking back our country in the 2012 elections and beyond.

Socialist thugs? Yes
The Occupy Wall Street protests began with anti-capitalism students demonstrating about the rich not paying enough taxes and the lack of jobs, which describes President Obama’s jobs bill (“The left trots out its pathetic version of the tea party,” Oct. 6). As the movement spread across the country, it was joined by unions and Move-On.org.
Sounds familiar, like when Obama said he was going to every corner of the country campaigning for his proposal. He has not done that, but his zealot supporters have. There is no comparison with the tea party movement, which does represent most of the American people.
It’s simply socialist thugs versus capitalism and concerned citizens.

Re: Obama-style democracy: Bureaucrats know best
The Washington Examiner - Editorial
September 29, 2011
Indeed, President Obama's administration of establishing commissions and positions of 'bureaucrats know best' -- and his constant campaign for aggressive government growth -- is turning up the fire and stirring the pot until it boils over, diminishing democracy and scalding his opponents.
Surely, Obama-style democracy is being practiced by Governors -- such as North Carolina's Bev Perdue, and California's Jerry Brown -- who are intent on elected officials and representatives ignoring the Constitution, and the collective judgment of the people.
Liberal activism has turned America's unique constitutional limited government and free-market republic from a melting pot of assimilation to a boiling pot of multiculturalism, harsh political factions, class warfare and large government socialism.
Hopefully, those who practice over-bearing government against representative democracy, will be reminded otherwise by voters. Clearly, we are in the constitutional and fundamental position to decide what is best for us.

Obama’s plans to boost economy will be blocked
Daniel B. Jeffs
Apple Valley, Calif.
President Obama’s proposed “Buffett Rule” to raise taxes on Americans earning more than $1 million a year will handicap many job creators (“Don’t raise taxes on ‘job creators,’ ” Other views, Taxes and spending debate, Tuesday).
Adding insult to injury, Obama’s added proposal to reduce tax deductions on individual annual incomes of $200,000 and couples’ incomes of $250,000 — many of whom are small-business owners and job creators — would crush them and do further injury to the job market.
The president’s jobs, taxes and debt reduction plans are nothing more than campaign exercises that he knows Republicans will reject. He will do it again and again and blame what certainly will be a worse economy on Republicans during the months leading up to the 2012 election. That’s his plan.
If Obama truly had the best for America at heart, he would stop the spending, reform and simplify the tax code, eliminate unreasonable business-killing regulations, and reduce the size, scope and power of government.
If Republicans are not elected to control the Congress and the presidency, and the Bush tax cuts are not made permanent but allowed to expire, our country surely will sink into a long-term depression.

Solyndra highlights energy folly
Re "Solyndra isn't reason to kill clean energy" (Editorials, Sept. 18): The $535 million Solyndra solar panel company scandal showcases what President Barack Obama showcased in dumping $25 billion into renewable energy firms, promising about 650,000 jobs. Instead, only about 3,500 jobs were created. California got in the act by giving Solyndra $24 million in tax breaks after which the company shed about 1,100 jobs in its bankruptcy, leaving all taxpayers on the hook for Solyndra's loan.
Adding insult to injury, AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, was and is a very bad idea that will surely sink California's economy. Indeed, as if California wasn't crashing enough, the energy and cost-of-living explosion with the implementation of AB 32 could not have come at a worse time in what will be a protracted nationally depressed economy.
Surely, the federal and state malfeasance over energy is tantamount to punching the American and California economies in the face.

Is President Obama the leader of the World?
by Daniel B. Jeffs, founder DDC
September 21, 2011
President Obama's speech to the United Nations smacked of someone who arrogantly imagines himself as the leader of the World. Is that why the new world trade center is being named the "One World Trade Center"?
Historically, the president of the United States has been considered the leader of the free world. However, members of the UN have given no indication that Obama's leadership extends to all nations. No matter, simply because the United Nations is far from united, and hardly proven to be worthwhile or worth the cost.
Endless bloviating aside, President Obama's lack of leadership amounts to talking the American people in economic circles to confuse voters, blame Republicans for his failures, and mix government machinations into his ideology of a one-world vision.
That is not leadership. It's pushing the United States down a path of social, political and econominc self-destruction, which would likely to take the World with it.

by Daniel B. Jeffs, founder DDC
September 20, 2011
The premise of President Obama's proposed "Buffett Rule" to raise taxes on Americans earning more than $1 million a year is not only false, it will raise taxes on most job creators.
Adding insult to injury, Obama's continuing proposal to raise taxes on individual incomes of $200,000 and couples' incomes of $250,000 --many of whom are small business owners and job creators -- would crush them and do further injury to the job market.
President Obama's jobs, taxes and debt reduction plans are nothing more than deceitful campaign exercises that he knows Republicans will reject. President's American Jobs Act speech an empty gesture
by Daniel B. Jeffs, founder DDC
September 10, 2011
I'm so frustrated about President Obama using the media and a joint session of Congress (at taxpayers' expense) to launch his 2012 re-election campaign with the promise of his American Jobs Act legislation that, "Congress must pass right away," with details to be released a week from next Monday -- that I can't understand the insanity of it beyond deceitful political theater.
The president just keeps doing the same thing, expecting a different result, when it is obvious that it has not worked, and won't work to improve the economic and jobs crisis. It's simply another empty gesture that wastes $billions more. The House of Representatives is on the right track. The Senate and the President are blocking the way out of a deepening recession.
Indeed, the nation is steeped in uncertainty caused by government. What an "American Jobs Act" should contain is legislation repealing the tax code and replacing it with a flat tax, removing all unreasonable EPA administrative laws and regulations inhibiting businesses, repealing Obamacare and the Dodd-Frank finance legislation, and opening up all America's domestic coal, oil and natural gas energy resources. That would be a good start to increase confidence, jobs and economic growth.
Clearly, the Congress and President Obama should pass it right away!

S&P responded to Obama's war on capitalism
President Obama and others' rhetoric demonizing Standard & Poor's and the Tea Party movement in response to the U.S. credit downgrade does little or nothing to alleviate government's feeble attempt to curb reckless debt and spending, removing any and all doubt that Obama and liberal Democrats in Congress have been engaged in an endless war against capitalism.
The majority of Americans who represent the Tea Party movement are now reining in government. The 2012 elections will send a new sheriff and posse to town to clean up Washington.

Bring back Calvin Coolidge
If the Republican House proposal to cut, cap and balance budgets with a constitutional amendment had not been rejected by the Democratic Senate and president, there would have been no downgrade.
Alas, the anemic deal raising the debt limit by $2.4 trillion and cutting spending by $2.4 trillion over the next 10 years is a zero gain that will do little or nothing to keep the national debt from increasing by $10 trillion over that time.
Clearly, the way to resolve this unsustainable mess is to eliminate the sources of the suppressed economy and stimulate growth and jobs with real tax reform; by cutting business- and energy-inhibiting regulations and litigation; slashing the size, scope and overreaching power of government; and by passing a balanced budget amendment with teeth.
That can only be done with a 2012 Republican Congress, and a 21st-century Calvin Coolidge-style Republican president. Only then can we open the road to recovery, prosperity and the American legacy of freedom.

Release of oil reserves is a symbolic Band-Aid
Re: "Obama releasing 30m barrels from U.S. oil reserves," June 23
The United States consumes about 20 million barrels of oil per day. Thanks to environmental zealots and government overregulation, our current domestic oil production is limited to about 6 million barrels per day.
President Obama's politically-motivated release of 30 million barrels of oil from our 727 million-barrel national oil reserves will reduce our national security, provide a Band-Aid of less than two days of oil, and won't help our long term economy. Permitting production of 30 million barrels per month from Alaska's outer continental shelf, and opening up our oil and gas resources would.
The economy will suffer even more if President Obama continues his costly government-controlled nation-building at home, as he confirmed in his speech on removing troops from Afghanistan.
Lest we forget, insanity is doing the same stupid things over and over, expecting different results.

Getting bin Laden
Giving President Obama credit for pulling the trigger on bin Laden notwithstanding, getting bin Laden is the one thing that improves his standing with the military ("Bin Laden's Legacy: America Wins Again," June). He is now basking in the glory and playing it for all its political worth.
Question is, where did he stand on the war against terrorism before vowing to get bin Laden in the 2008 campaign? He used bin Laden as the lone symbol, without sustaining substance.
And that's exactly why America is in all this social, political, and economic trouble.

A Recovery in Need of Recovery
It's bad enough that President Obama's $800 billion economic recovery program is a total bust.
But why add insult to injury by assuming that the private sector has no chance, and that government is still the solution? Indeed, government has been the problem all along.
Government from Jimmy Carter to Bill Clinton, caused the housing bubble by intimidating lenders with legislation designed to make it too simple to buy a home.

It's bad enough that President Obama's $800 billion economic recovery program is a total bust. But why add insult to injury by assuming that the private sector has no chance, and that government is still the solution? Indeed, government has been the problem all along.
Government caused the boom by intimidating lenders with President Carter's Community Reinvestment Act for affordable housing, exacerbated by President Clinton, Rep. Barney Frank, Senator Chris Dodd, Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines, Freddie Mac, ACORN -- and the extortion and terrorism of the SEIU and NACA.
Lest we forget, the housing boom and bust caused the financial crisis, and set this unique long term collapse in motion. Time to make real headway on cutting the budget
Follow GOP plan
While President Obama, Senator Reid and House Speaker Boehner pat themselves on the back for avoiding a government shutdown by making a deal on $38.5 billion in budget cuts, they lose sight of the real deal. $38.5 billion is political chump change, and the people lose.
Why? There is a $14.3 trillion public debt gorilla in the people's room fed by political ideology and the malfeasance of personal power.
Indeed, according to U.S. Treasury and budget office reports, the federal debt will reach $19.6 trillion by 2015. The interest on the debt this year will be over $530 billion, and the federal deficit will be over $1.6 trillion.
Contrary to popular political belief, the people are not stupid. We are more informed than ever. Government growth means loss of freedoms. We recognize the abuse of power, fraud and deceit -- and we are not going to take it anymore.
If our elected representatives and officials don't get their act together and work out something like the "Path to Prosperity" budget plan put forth by House Budget Committee Chairman, Paul Ryan, the changes made in Congress in 2010 will be expanded by voters in 2012 and beyond until Washington gets it right.

False Exercise
President Obama's March 29, 2011 vow to cut oil imports by a third by 2025 is simply another intentional false exercise in political futility. Particularly, when his administration has stifled oil exploration with worthless leases, over-regulation and reduced gulf oil production -- exacerbated by spreading turmoil in the Middle East.
Indeed, at the rate of oil and gas price increases, even if domestic resources were fully opened, it would be 2025 before most production could be realized, and oil imports would have to be substantially increased. Meanwhile, our cost of living will continue to rise.
Adding insult to economic public injury, President Obama wants to increase subsidized ethanol production -- which raises the cost of fuel and food prices -- and he is pushing subsidized renewable energy -- wind and solar -- which greatly increases the cost of unreliable electricity on demand.
Coupled with the administration's preposterous plan to have us dependent on 80 percent "clean energy" by 2035, deceptively includes "clean coal" and nuclear, which means neither. That kind of irresponsible governing will certainly result in economic ruin long before then -- especially without a regime change in Washington in 2012.

Lack of oil, gas and energy is not funny
Paul Whitefield's 'President Obama's news conference: All in a President's day' is humorous, but hardly appropriate journalism considering the gravity of our current circumstances -- particularly regarding oil, gas and energy.
President Obama's remarks at his March 11, 2011 news conference touting the increase in oil production under his watch is what "… doesn't match up with reality." The president is simply attempting to take credit for what the Bush administration managed to accomplish against decades of reduced production because of unreasonable restrictions from the environmental left.
Skirting the truth is bad enough. But playing politics as usual by making and breaking campaign promises in the face of instability among Middle East oil-producing nations, exacerbating our failing economy with rising oil and energy prices, is an unconscioable fraud against the American people -- who contrary to popular political belief, are not that naďve.
Indeed, President Obama's promises to boost domestic oil, gas and energy production is a deceptive reversal of what he is actually doing, which is delaying existing production, prohibiting new production, and pushing green energy. I'll believe the president is sincere about ensuring our national security and helping the economy, when he takes a shovel and personally breaks ground for a new coal mine, drilling in ANWR, and opens all of our resources.

Re: Obama's budget blarney - editorial
Obama's economic snake oil
Extension of the George W. Bush tax cuts was the only good thing that came out of the previous Congress and President Obama’s White House, but now the president is back to his overspending ways with his fiscal 2012 budget (“Obama’s budget blarney,” Comment & Analysis, Wednesday). The previous Democrat-controlled Congress hid behind closed doors to concoct a plan to take over health care. It drove up the national debt so high that monthly interest payments are in the billions. It put America on the path to insolvency with economy-busting rules and regulations for finance, industry and energy. Overall, the size of government and its spending increased 25 percent.
Now, after voters rejected the lame-duck Congress and passed control of the House to Republicans, Mr. Obama is making a veiled attempt at political triangulation. He’s using a dash of snake-oil doublespeak and budget blarney while wasting tax dollars on ineffective green energy, the rapid-rail-to-nowhere project and our failing education system. Thus, he is playing voters for fools, which makes his re-election chances even dimmer.

Kangaroo Congress and presidential shell games
Lest we forget, extending the Bush tax cuts was the only good thing that came out of the previous Congress and beyond President Obama's White House desk, but it will only last until just after the 2012 presidential election.
Meanwhile, the Democrat-controlled Congress cranked out a costly grab at national health care from behind closed doors, cranked up the national debt to where It's costing $200 billion per month in interest payments, and put America on the presidential path to insolvency with economy-busting rules and regulations over finance, industry and energy -- not to mention a 25 percent increase in government size and spending.
Now, after voters rejected the Kangaroo Congress and passed control of the House to Republicans, President Obama is making a veiled attempt at the triangulation shell game, with a dash of snake oil double-speak and a blarney budget proposal, to cut spending here and increase spending there -- with tax increases on the wealthy (loss of more jobs) and oil companies (increasing gas prices) -- while wasting tax dollars on ineffective green energy (increasing energy prices), infrastructure (rapid rail to nowhere) and miseducation.
Indeed, with the shell game's public pea up his sleeve, Obama is playing voters for fools, which makes his re-election chances even dimmer.
