Gingrich proposes a 21st Century System of Health and Healthcare where the individual is at the center of care, a better outcome at lower cost is the measure of success, and doctors and hospitals take full advantage of existing technologies. Gingrich argues that a such a system that saves lives and saves money is both a moral imperative and a practical need.

"There is an enormous gap between the quality of healthcare you and your family should have and what you are most likely receiving from the current system," Gingrich says. "We have demonstrated that Americans could have a dramatically better system, which would save thousands of lives and billions of dollars every year."

"Saving Lives & Saving Money provides an objective view of the fundamental flaws in the U.S. health system and a provocative discussion of its needed transformation. It is an insightful analysis of the $1.4 billion dollar system that accurately depicts the strong the cross-currents of opinion and self-interest that limit control healthcare today.

This is a must read for health industry professionals and thoughtful observers of the U.S. health system. It makes the point well--that the system as we know it today is in need of fundamental change--transformational change--to survive into the next decade and century."
