Barbara Boxer: small "s" senator and the Wicked Witch of the West

It was troubling to watch embittered political zealot, Barbara Boxer unload her grandstanding personal agenda against secretary of state nominee, Condoleezza Rice, which was shameful and embarrassing to many citizens in California. Indeed, it was simply unconscionable for sen. Boxer to impugn Rice's honesty and integrity in such a vindictive, self-serving manner.

Coupled with Boxer's publicity stunts, her lame excuses, her spiteful activities in delaying Rice's confirmation, and her partisan abuse of power in delaying the constitutional counting of the 2004 electoral votes by questioning Ohio's results, the senator further diminished her questionable status in Congress.

All too frequently, Boxer conveniently ignores the fact that she also represents millions of California voters who do not agree with her. Unfortunately, she only stopped leaning radically to the left long enough to pander to centrist voters at election time. Surely, Boxer has enhanced the state's image of the land of "Oz," as a small "s" senator, assuming the role of "the wicked witch of the West."
