THE POLITICS OF BAD FAITH: The radical Assault on America's Future
Author: David Horowitz
Publisher: Touchstone Books,
March 2000
The Politics of Bad Faith brings into the open the refusal of the political Left -- including those who describe themselves as liberals -- to learn from the past, specifically from the checkered history of progressive movement for social justice and equal outcomes. This refusal shapes agendas that Horowitz describes as part of the "cold war" against America -- a culture war that pits "progressives" and "multi-culturalists" against America's founding principles and ideas.
Horowitz traces the radical project from its origins in nineteenth-century socialism to the disastrous excesses of such current "progressive" causes as political correctness, radical feminism, racial preferences, and what he describes as the nihilistic campaign to "deconstruct" the American idea itself.
This important work is a cohesive and searing document for all who refuse to bury their heads in the sand while American institutions and beliefs are corrupted by the politics of bad faith masquerading under the guise of social justice.
DDC reviewer's note:
Indeed, Horowitz (author of Radical Son) should know his stuff. Raised by Communist parents, the ex-Marxist spent the first half of his life trying to destroy democracy. Since converting to conservatism, he has aptly exposed the radical Left for what it really means to our future.
Radical conservatism isn't much better, however, the best of both worlds exercised in moderation would be the common sense approach to the fruition of nonpartisan democracy.
