ANTHRAX PROBABLY DOMESTIC TERRORISM

Soon after the suicide skyjacker terrorist attacks on America's symbols of economic and military power at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, another kind of terrorism was mailed to the nation's symbols of tabloid and news media outlets, and the U.S. seat of government in the form of anthrax.

And, in the new tradition of 24/7 media feeding frenzies, it came as no surprise that the country was, and still is, awash in fear, anxiety and paranoia over hyper-speculation, copy cat powder mailers, costly emergency responses and security measures.

What was starkly missing, and only now being loosely considered, at the onset of discovering the deadly contents of the envelopes was recognizing the obvious mindset of a home-grown terrorist or terrorists who seized the opportunity to wreak havoc on government and the media at the expense of innocent workers, while trying to direct blame on Islamic terrorists.

Who else but a lunatic domestic terrorist would put a 4th grade class as a return address? And shame on government and the news media if, indeed, it turns out to be one or more of our own people.
